Wrap the squash half loosely in aluminum foil and place it on a baking sheet. Let the squash stand until just cool enough to handle. Scoop out and discard the seeds. Scoop seeds from the squash, and place in a baking pan, cut side up. Butternut squash (my fave fall veg), Italian sausage (all things good), and gnocchi (pure comfort food) are all involved.
