The ingredients needed to make Healthy Uttapam:
  1. Get 4 TB Oats
  2. Make ready 1/4 ts Pau Bhaji Masala
  3. Take Pinch Salt
  4. Take 2 TB Chopped Onion
  5. Get 1 TB Chopped Green Chillies
  6. Get 1 TB Besan (Chick Peas Flour)
  7. Make ready 1 TB Yougu2 TB

Uthappam is a type of dosa from South India. In Tamil Nadu it is known as Uthappam (ஊத்தப்பம்), in Karnataka it is known as Uttappa (ಉತ್ತಪ್ಪ). The uttapam should be thick like regular uttapams. Now reduce the flame to medium.

Instructions to make Healthy Uttapam:
  1. Grind Oats to a coarse flour in a spice mill or use Oats flour. Add all dry ingredients to a bowl. Keep onion, chillies and yogurt aside. Add a little water and mix. Add yogurt and mix it like a pancake batter.
  2. Pour this batter onto a Hot Tava or non stick pan. Sprinkle onions and chillies. Add a little ghee around Uppama. Cook about 3 minutes. Turn over and cook another 4 mts. Serve with Achaar.

The uttapam should be thick like regular uttapams. Now reduce the flame to medium. Repeat the same process for the rest of the batter. Note - Oats Uttapam is very flimsy, so handle it gently while. Vegetable Uttapams are topped with finely chopped vegetables.
