This one is made using karamani, one of my favourite pulses. Karamani sundal - this is my first sundal try with karamani or black eyes peas or lobia. Sundal is very easy to make at the same time healthy and packed with proteins. Sundal is typically made with Black Chickpeas , Rajma, Lobia, Green Peas and even Peanuts.

Instructions to make Karamani Sundal / Black Eyed Peas Sundal:
  1. Wash the karamani and soak them for 3-4 hours and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles. Heat oil in a pan, add Urad dal, mustard seeds and let it crackle.
  2. Add curry leaves, dry red chillies, green chilli, Asafoetida and saute for a min.
  3. Add grated coconut and saute for a min.
  4. Add the boiled black eyed peas, roasted cumin powder and mix well.
  5. Saute for about 3-5 mins and take off the heat.
  6. Serve it as a prasadam or a healthy tea time snacks. Enjoy
